Washington Township · Board of Education

Good decisions begin with listening.

I’m Pete Dressler. My family and I moved to Long Valley because of the school district. I’m running for the Board of Education to listen, learn, and help our community make thoughtful decisions for its schools.

My approach to service

Listen first. Help where useful.

I’m not coming in with a list of changes. I want to understand what is already working, listen to the people closest to an issue, and contribute where I can be helpful.

01 · LISTEN

Understand students’ needs

Listen to students, families, educators, and staff, and help ensure their perspectives are part of thoughtful decisions.

02 · LEARN

Understand the trade-offs

When questions come before the Board, learn what is already in place and consider the effects of the options on students and staff.

03 · CONTRIBUTE

Think beyond the next decision

Stay curious about the district’s plans and help think through future needs as the Board and community work on them.

Why I’m running

My family and I moved to Long Valley because of the school district. Since then, we’ve tried to get involved and give back—not to change things for the sake of change, but to help where we can be useful.

As a Senior Product Manager, I work through complex needs and trade-offs. Earlier, as a Product Management Instructor and software trainer, I learned to make complex topics easier to understand. I’d bring that same practical, clear communication to Board service.
